Malaika House meaning \u201d The House of Angels<\/strong> \u201d provides children from the poor families and vulnerable environments in our neighborhoods with an opportunity to have access quality education to transform, inspire and prepare a bright future for\u00a0 children in precarious environments. Once complete Malaika house will host Malaika House Montessori Schools, and Malaika Volunteer Houses & Home-stay<\/p>\n

Malaika House Montessori School<\/strong><\/span>
\nMalaika House Montessori School is an English Medium Montessori school envisioning provision of quality education to children from extremely poor families, orphans and street children who can barely afford a daily meal let alone access to the expensive education provided by private international and English medium schools in Tanzania. Street Shepherds Africa believes that every child deserves an equal access to better education regardless of his\/her social-economic background\/status.<\/p>\n

Malaika House operates under \u201cMontessori Education system\u201d , an education approach developed by the legendary Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori Maria Montessori which is characterized by an emphasis on independence<\/span><\/strong>, freedom within limits<\/span><\/strong>, and respect for a child\u2019s natural psychological , physical,<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span><\/span>social development<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Malaika House Montessori Schools follow and adhere to the essential elements of Montessori Education programs including :-<\/p>\n

\u2022 Mixed age classrooms, with classrooms for children aged 2\u00bd or 3 to 6 years old by far the most common<\/span>
\n \u2022 Student choice of activity from within a prescribed range of options<\/span>
\n \u2022 Uninterrupted blocks of work time, ideally three hours<\/span>
\n \u2022 A constructivist or \u201cdiscovery\u201d model, where students learn concepts from working with materials, rather than by direct instruction<\/span>
\n \u2022 Specialized educational materials<\/span>
\n \u2022 Freedom of movement within the classroom<\/span>
\n \u2022 Trained Montessori teachers<\/span><\/p>\n

At Malaika House Montessori Schools, we have highly dedicated teachers who design our programs with reference to Montessori model of human development from her published works, and use of pedagogy , lessons, and materials introduced in teacher training derived from courses presented by Montessori during her lifetime.<\/p>\n

Once complete Malaika house Montessori schools will provide fully furnished children\u2019s playground and recreation facility for children from the poor and less fortunate families, and vulnerable and environments in the neighborhoods to have a safe, secure and happy playing grounds with supervised sports and games facilities for after school to provide children with more learning opportunities through sports and games specially designed to help them learn, grow and have moments to enjoy and be happy like other privileged children. these fun times will be under great care and love of the caretakers, teachers and volunteers while the children play and learn.<\/p>\n

Currently our first Malaika House Montessori School project operates under CCM building in Moshi Kilimanjaro and we are looking for sponsors or investors interested in investing in children’s education with priority to orphaned and less fortunate children from poverty stricken communities. the main vision being to provide quality education for a better and bright future of our developing nations especially in Africa.<\/p>\n

Malaika Volunteer Houses and home-stays<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n

Once complete, Malaika House will\u00a0 also provide volunteers with a great opportunity to experience the true African life and culture as they stay in our volunteer houses and home-stays with the Malaika house Care takers, and families around Malaika house. Malaika House Volunteer houses and home-stays will as well welcome all volunteers with passion to help and work with children from precarious environments and volunteering at orphanages, children homes and centres, as well as schools including Malaika House Montessori School.<\/p>\n
