The Gifted Hands

Welcome to the Gifted Hands Art and Designing project, where we heal hearts and nurture talents through Art !!!

The Healing Art project is a Non profit art and designing project envisioning healing the hearts of children living in precarious environments by teaching them a number of art skills to help them release the painful memories of their past experiences on streets, abuse at home and loss of their loved ones.

Researches show that children can easily heal their painful experiences, by concentrating on art and designing including painting where they get to express what they went through, what they dream of being in their lives, and also use these paintings to reflect or tell what they went through for those find it hard to tell their stories in word of mouth.

Street Shepherds, through the Healing Art project, teaches children different art an design skills, make a diverse art collections, collect artwork from donors in form of donated artworks, and sell the made art collections and designs.

The proceeds collected from selling and auctioning these artworks and designs are saved to support the children in various needs on the streets, children centers and in our neighborhoods. The needs range from food, clothes, school fees, medical aid, and basic school needs like uniforms, exercise books, pens, pencils etc.

For the children living on the streets, Street Shepherds teach them how to make simple artworks and products that they will sell to earn some money instead of depending on begging for living. Among the prospective training that Street Shepherds will conduct for these children soon is making paper bags out of used News papers for the souvenir and gift shops. This too is expected to keep them busy and away from idleness hence help them generate love for Art that will in turn heal their hearts from the painful experiences from home, and the streets.

Please join us by signing a petition to organize this training, donate and artwork that will be auctioned, or sold, but also help us by buying they products  they make so that they can stay away from the temptations of stealing and pushing drugs.
